The service continues to be spot-on. EXAMPLE: I ordered a chicken tamale, the consistency was inadequate, the masa was soft and watery. I told the server and she was apologetic and told me that the tamales had just been made so the tamales did not have time cool. I wanted to try something new, so I ordered a LOROCO & cheese pupusa. I did not like it, there was nothing wrong with it ( simply not for me) FORTUNATELY as always the bean and cheese pupusas are DELICIOUS (my favorite) The true wonderful flavors of pupusas are found in the mixture of the refried beans and cheese. The Frijol y Queso are always DELICIOUS! This time I did order a large Horchata, perfect for a hot summer day. Normally the curtido is FANTASTIC, this time it was just ok. I think it was probably made today, so it was missing the normal curtido fermentation taste. Will I return to El Pulgarcito? YESSSS I WILL, as it still has great frijol y queso yummy yummy pupusas SIDE-NOTE: The pupusas are served with curtido and red salsa. I see people pouring the red salsa on top of the pupusas, I don't like wet tortillas, therefore I have no idea if the salsa enhances the pupusa flavor.

My daughter and I came here in a Saturday and I just wanted to say oh me oh myyyy. The wait was a little less than 15 minutes so they were much faster and I only thought it fair to update my review. It never ceases to surprise me that their pupusas taste home made like as if made my mom and grandma and sure enough it is. This is a family owned restaurant so if you want a wonderful and delicious homemade pupusa made fresh this is your place. The cheese melts with the chiccaron and I also tried the shrimp pupusa and boy oh boy! The refried beans were smooth and the rice was so flavorful! Listen in Orange County the price is a steal was really cheap for what you get honestly at 3.95 plus tax each or make it a combo at 7.75 plus tax I mean oh me oh my if you haven't eaten here yet I don't know what you're waiting for but you better hurry up before you end up waiting in a line! Love this place the best pupusas in all of Orange County and I challenge you to find a place that is better because I guarantee you won't! But please do yourself a favor try them out and tell me I'm wrong because I know you won't!

The prices were good and food was flavorful the only thing was i couldn't tell which was the pupusa revuelta and which was frijoles and cheese. I thought i was eating the bean and cheese until i cut open the other. Honestly, beside bieng a little reddish than the other, I couldn't taste the chicharron. That was disappointing.

If you like good pupusas you will love this place. The customer service is great and they speak spanish and english. This spot is usually busy but it's understandable because the food is so good. It's a cute restaurant with plenty of tables. The horchata is not Mexican horchata but Salvadorian so it's thicker. Their pina drink is soo good I recommend it! It has little chunks of pineapple and apple in it. The curtido is amazing and has the perfect flavor. I love their rice as well

I have been religiously making a pilgrimage down the 57 to this restaurant since I learned about it during the pandemic to satiate my hunger for yummy pupusas. I have never had a more delicious and fresh pupusa as when I've had them here. Their yucca frita with chicharron? Obsessed. It's so good. And I love how sweet Salvadoran horchata is. I've never had a bad experience with the service, never is it really full when I've stopped by for lunch. They be cooking in that kitchen!

Bean and cheese pupusas = sooooooo good. I ordered the combo which comes with rice and beans. The beans are definitely on the saltier side which is fine because the blandness of the rice balances both out. I love the cabbage that comes with the pupusas that adds that perfect crunch. They make all of their pupusas from scratch on the spot so it takes about 30 minutes per order so make sure you order in advance if you are in a hurry.

This place is the spot for pupusas in OC. Call ahead on the weekdays for your pupusas since they are made to order and take a while. Prices are good and so is service. This place is very casual which is all the better considering i am always struggling to leave with how full i get!

Discovered El Pulgarcito in a hidden corner, and despite its discreet location, the place was packed - a testament to its fantastic offerings. The pupusas were a standout at just three dollars each, large, flavorful, and customizable with various toppings. They surprised me with my favorite drink, atole de elote, a rare find. The staff was friendly, efficient, and great at communication. Despite its small size, the experience was amazing. Highly recommend checking out this gem - there's a reason it was bustling even in its tucked-away spot!
